Eugène Delacroix exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Eugène Delacroix exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Very happy about the upcoming Eugène Delacroix exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum. Delacroix | The Metropolitan Museum of Art I read his journal when I was in my 20’s. I’ve always admired his work and felt a kinship as an artist. The painting below is titled Christ […]
68th and Lexington
I did this drawing a few weeks ago waiting to meet a friend at the corner of 68th and Lexington. It was a bit cold out but I enjoyed drawing in the middle of the day in the middle of the city (by Hunter College).
Lex Seated, January 29, 2015
Recently I’ve begun in the figure drawing class to experiment with “troix crayons.” This is a drawing of Lex done with red, black and white which I did earlier this evening. Here is an online site with instruction and information on the concept of “troix crayons.” http://georgetownatelier.com/tutorials/figure-trois-crayons/

I did this drawing on the subway ride home from the Art Students League tonight.
Subway Sketches

After doing an […]

Japanese Beauty
Most of my subway sketches are practice – like a pianist doing his scales, just that, just practice. But some of them turn out really well and leave me with a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment; those are the exception rather than the rule. Also I deceive myself by believing I’m sketching incognito, unnoticed as […]
Second week with Lex
